On Friday 14th June we welcomed 12 students and 2 teachers from Radnor High School in Philadelphia as part of our American Exchange programme.  Despite the rain, students were super excited to meet their partners and at the end of the school day families arrived to take students and their partners home for the weekend.  After a fun filled weekend of various activities including shopping, bowling, sightseeing and football, students returned to school Monday morning for a day of lessons Friesland style.

On Monday evening the group descended on Spring Lakes for an action-packed hour on the aqua park before heading home for a well-earned rest.  On Tuesday we took the group on a historical tour of Britain, first visiting Warwick Castle.  The weather decided to be kind and allowed us to cheer the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancashire in a fierce jousting competition and tour the sights of the castle.  Following this we travelled down the road to Stratford to show off our literary past.  As the group are accompanied by their English Literature teachers, they were really keen to see the birth place of Shakespeare and some of the other famous landmarks Stratford has to offer.

Wednesday saw yet more British culture, with a trip to Dale Abbey Tea rooms for a traditional afternoon tea and tour of the local area. Following this, students returned home for their final night with their hosts before leaving for London on Thursday morning.
