A Levels: Art & Design, Photography, Media (2011-2018)
I am currently in my 3rd year at Falmouth University where I study BA Photography. I was at Friesland for seven years, and in the sixth form I studied Photography, Textiles and Media which was challenging with the workloads but it really prepared me for the level of work at University.
I applied to several different Universities and I was fortunate to be offered places at all of them and happily I knew immediately that I wanted to go to Falmouth.
When you’re applying for university, I think it’s important in creative subjects to show your true personality through your work and self-presentation. Be yourself.
I chose Falmouth because its arguably the best Uni ever (biased)! The photography department is outstanding, from the studios to the darkrooms and the equipment available it is excellent. There’s a community formed from the day you get there, networking with other courses is so easy and everyone knows everyone. And obviously there’s the beaches!
Whilst at Friesland Sixth form my confidence in myself and my abilities improved and even though I’d no intention of going to University at all I am now certain it’s the best choice I ever made. If Mr Tunstall hadn’t had confidence in me the way he did I wouldn’t be where I am now.
