Another busy week this week with all our Friesland teams in action with all 4 games being at home.
Derby County Women’s ‘B’ V West Brom Women
Looking to get back on their winning streak Derby County Women B looked to take last week’s game as motivation and build upon it within this weeks game. The girl’s looked to build attacks well, playing from deep and through the thirds but also going long to penetrate West Brom’s defensive line. The girls created lots of opportunities and were a lot more clinical in front of goal, managing to score 10 goals! Out of possession the girls transitioned well and worked hard to get behind the ball, we did well at becoming compact out of possession which made it hard for West Brom to play through.
Derby County Women’s ‘A’ V Stoke City Women
The girls looked to continue to develop their energy on and off the ball and carry their performance from last week into this week. The girl’s togetherness is high each week trying to improve upon previous scores. The girls started pressing early, forcing Stoke to make mistakes early on. They were successful down the wide areas, winning their 1v1 battles. The girls were positive, creating lots of chances and kept possession well. The girls picked up all 3 points with a 4-0 win.
Derby County B V Sheffield Wednesday A
The boys looked to continue to develop and build upon their game plan. With a strong Sheffield side, the boys looked to stay compact within their units. Alex in the boy’s goal was on form as he made some outstanding saves within the first half to keep the boys in the game, with that performance he deserved a clean sheet. The team attacked well with a variety of paced attacks, they knew when to slow the game down to build an attack and when to counter. A dominant performance and a deserved 5-1 win for the boys.
Derby County F V Shrewsbury B
Derby County faced a strong Shrewsbury side and had a frustrating first half, as Shrewsbury looked to have energy and fast paced attacks Derby Unfortunately conceded 3 within the first half. After half time the Derby Boys came back fighting, managing to score early on. Derby looked to press high up the pitch and looked to slow the game down when they had possession looking to build attacks. Being more structured within the second half allowed Derby to deny Shrewsbury attacks. With a more end to end game, Derby managed to secure a 3-3 draw late on in the game.
