How you will study

NEA (non-exam assessment) represents the final 30% of the course. 15% is based on an individual’s performance in a sport of their choice – this must be on the agreed list produced by the exam board. Video evidence must be produced of the performance in the full sided version of the activity (eg, a complete 90 minute football match). The second 15% is from coursework. Students are required to analyse and evaluate, using content included in the specification, a performance as either a player or coach, in one activity from the specification. Students can analyse and evaluate their own performance or the performance of another, as long as it is in an activity that is from the specification. This can be completed in a purely written format, or via a combination of a written format (eg continuous prose/PowerPoint slides etc) and additional verbal explanation (eg expanding on PowerPoint presentation/interview). Students will be assessed on their performance analysis assessment in the following two skills: Analysis (20 marks) and Evaluation (25 marks).

In Year 12 content is focussed primarily on the Paper 1 content and in year 13 paper 2 and paper 1, as the paper 2 may contain many synoptic questions including content covered throughout the course.

In Year 13 students will have to provide full video evidence of playing or
coaching the full sided version of their chosen sport and also produce a written analysis of their/others performance in this sport.
